SOMETHIN' STUPID
by ROBBIE WILLIAMS/NICOLE KIDMAN

Somethin’ Stupid was originally written by American songwriter Clarence Carson Parks II and famously covered by Frank Sinatra who performed a version of it with his daughter Nancy Sinatra, which was an UK Official Singles Chart Number 1 in 1967.

For his 2001 album Swing When You’re Winning, Robbie Williams teamed up with Australian actress Nicole Kidman (who Robbie had been a fan of since her turn in the film Moulin Rouge!) to cover Somethin’ Stupid. Released December 10, 2001, Somethin’ Stupid shot into the charts at the top and remained there for three weeks to become that year’s UK Official Singles Chart Christmas Number 1 and land Robbie his fifth chart-topper overall, and Nicole her first, and so far only, Number 1 to date.
