Wish You The Best was the third song – and third chart-topper in less than a year – to be issued from Lewis Capaldi’s second album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, and his fifth Official UK Singles Chart Number 1 overall after Someone You Loved (2019), Before You Go (2019), Forget Me (2022) and Pointless (2023).

This stirring ballad really shows off Lewis’s emotional vocals and rare ability to write a song that tugs at the heartstrings. Appropriately enough, the moving video is based on the true story of Greyfriars Bobby, a terrier dog in 19th-century Scotland who visited the grave of his owner for 14 years after his passing. No, you have something in your eye.
