STRANGERS

Strangers, the major label debut from singer-songwriter Kenya Grace, scaled the Official Singles Chart in September 2023. Entirely self-written and produced by Kenya, who was born in South Africa and raised in Southampton, southern England, it's a beautifully wistful drum and bass bop on which Kenya looks back at a relationship that never gave her stability. "And then one random night when everything changes, you won't reply and we'll go back to strangers," she sings on the chorus.
Kenya got into writing and producing music after a stint doing musical theatre, and Strangers suggests she definitely chose the right path. Now signed to Atlantic's dance imprint Major Recordings, this massive breakthrough hit marked her out as one to watch in 2024 and beyond.
On 13 October 2023 Kenya Grace landed a place in Official Chart history when Strangers hit Number 1, Kenya became only the second woman in history to score a UK Number 1 with a single fully written, performed and produced by herself. The first woman to achieve the feat was music icon Kate Bush with Running Up That Hill in 2022.
