16 CARRIAGES is the first single lifted from Beyoncé's eighth studio album, RENAISSANCE Act II, released simultaneously alongside another Act II track, TEXAS HOLD 'EM.

The song was announced on Feburary 11 2024 during Super Bowl LVIII, after a teaser was aired in a Verizon advert starring actor and singer Tony Hale.

16 CARRIAGES was co-written by Beyoncé alongside Atia Boggs (also known as INK), Dave Hamelin and Raphael Saadiq, with INK and Hamelin also joining Beyoncé on production duties.

RENAISSANCE Act II serves as the the follow-up LP to Beyoncé's 2022 Number 1 album RENAISSANCE, which spawned four UK Top 40 tracks including BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT. RENAISSANCE Act II will be released on March 29 2024.
