Richard Ashcroft will join Oasis's Live '25 reunion tour next year, it has been confirmed.
Former The Verve frontman Ashcroft will join Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher and co. across the 19 sold out UK and Ireland dates next July-September, playing venues including Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park.
Announcing the news, Richard Ashcroft says:
"As a fan from day one I was buzzing for many reasons when the news of Oasis’s return was announced. I can say with no exaggeration that the songwriting talent of Noel and Liam’s pure spirit as a lead singer helped to inspire me to create some of my best work.
"It was the perfection of Live Forever that forced me to try and write my own. They dared to be great, made the dreams we had real and I will always remember those days with joy. Now it’s time to create more memories and I’m ready to bring it.
"See you next summer. Music is power."
Oasis and Ashcroft share a long history, with Oasis having first supported The Verve on their nationwide tour in 1993; playing to rooms of sometimes a few hundred people before the release of their debut single Supersonic later that year.
Back together in 1995, The Verve then supported Oasis at The Bataclan in Paris, before playing as special guests at Scotland’s Irving Beach.
Richard Ashcroft will support Oasis at their UK and Ireland dates, with further global special guests to be announced.
