So, Declan McKenna was last week's over-hyped new entry (at No.3) and vanished from sight this week...   it's so laughable that anyone actually believes this chart..  Or do they?

I feel like the opposite. There is way too little turnover in the charts these days.

You can look in the archive to the right of number 1. The charts used to be full of new and recent records - 5, 10, 20 or 40 years ago.

It used to be based on sales. They added streaming and now it’s dominated by records that are several years old. What counts as a stream to count for this chart? Is it listening to just one song from an album? Does it include songs that autoplayed, are in Spotify’s own playlists or on the streaming equivalent of radio stations?

Kids are well known to listen to and watch the same things over and over again.

Ed Sheeran ends his chart run. Only Divide is still on chart from debut. All his other albums have fallen out of the top 75 for at least a week.
