From w/e 04 January - Ed Sheeran - Perfect
The sixth biggest song of 2017, Perfect remained at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart for a total of six consecutive weeks.
From w/e 25 January: Eminem - River ft. Ed Sheeran
River became Eminem's ninth UK Number 1, extending the artist's own record for most chart-topping singles for a rap artist.
Because Ed Sheeran features on the track, he knocked his own song, Perfect, off the top of the chart after six weeks.
From w/e 01 February: Drake - Gods Plan
God's Plan managed a massive nine consecutive weeks at Number 1, pushing him to a total of 24 weeks at Number 1 as a headline artist: more than any other act this millennium.
From w/e 05 April: Rudimental - These Days ft. Jess Glynne
After seven weeks at Number 2, Rudimental finally managed to clinch the Number 1 spot with These Days - their third single to hit the top spot.
From w/e 12 April: Lil Dicky - Freaky Friday ft. Chris Brown
Freaky Friday logged 4.6 million streams to allow comic rapper Lil Dicky his first UK Number 1, and Chris Brown his second.

One Kiss amassed an impressive 70,000 units (comprising 7.1 million streams and 22,000 downloads) to reach Number 1. It stayed there for eight weeks.

Jess set a new Official Charts record when I'll Be There became her seventh solo single - the most of any solo female UK artist ever.
From w/e 28 June: Clean Bandit - Solo ft. Demi Lovato
Solo was Clean Bandit's fourth Number 1 and Demi Lovato's first.

It may not have come home for England in the World Cup, but it did for David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and The Lightning Seeds, who set a new Official Charts record with the anthem: The first time in our 66-year history that a song has scored four spells at Number 1 with the same artist line-up.
One week later, it achieved another record as the biggest ever drop down the Singles Chart from Number 1, 96 places to Number 97.

Thanks in part to a dance craze, In My Feelings became Drake's third Number 1 single of 2018. In its fourth week at the top it notched up a massive 10.6 million streams!

Shotgun returned to Number 1 after five weeks at the second position, earning 7,000,000 streams in its fourth week at the top.

Eastside was Benny's first UK Number 1 as a performer; though he had already had a taste of chart success, having co-written or produced 12 UK Number 1 singles previously.

Promises put Calvin Harris in the lead for the most Number 1 singles this decade with eight chart-topping hits.

A game-changing independent debut at Number 1, Dave told OfficialCharts.com, “I’m speechless right now. I just want to say thank you to everyone that’s helped us get this Number 1. I can’t even explain to you how grateful I am."

Gaga grabbed the Official Chart Double for the THIRD time when Shallow reached Number 1 on the same week as the A Star Is Born Soundtrack.

Having been released late in the week, thank u, next achieved remarkable numbers with a massive 73,000 combined sales in six days in its first week, including 6.7 million streams.
It finished over 26,000 sales ahead of its closest competitor.It went on to break multiple streaming records including the most Spotify streams in one week of all time, and the most first-day views of any YouTube video in history.
