The 2013 X Factor winner looks set to follow her Official Christmas Number 1 single with a chart-topping album, in time for Mother’s Day.
According to this morning’s Official Charts Company sales data, 2013 X Factor winner Sam Bailey could follow up her Christmas Number 1 single with a Number 1 album this weekend; just in time for Mother’s Day!
Sam, who recently revealed that she and husband Craig are expecting their third child, looks set to knock George Michael’s Symphonica off the top of the Official Albums Chart on Sunday with her debut album, The Power Of Love.
The Power Of Love, has gone in at Number 1 on today’s early Official Charts sales flash, and is ahead of Wilko Johnson and Roger Daltrey’s Going Back Home (Number 2 today) by nearly 4,000 copies. Should Sam continue to maintain her lead, The Power Of Love will be the highest charting X Factor winners’ album since Alexandra Burke’s Overcome debuted at Number 1 in October, 2009.
The 11-track effort features covers of Shania Twain’s From This Moment On, Faith Hill’s There You'll Be, the duet performed with judge Nicole Scherzinger at the live X Factor final, And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going from Dreamgirls, plus the title track, which was originally released by Jennifer Rush.
