Jahmene Douglas looks set to knock Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines off the top of the Official Albums Chart this weekend with Love Never Fails.

X Factor runner-up Jahmene Douglas could be on course for a debut Number 1 album this weekend, the OfficialCharts.com can reveal.

The 22-year-old former ASDA shop assistant, who came second to James Arthur on ITV’s flagship reality TV singing contest in December, is looking to swap shelf-stacking for chart-topping pop stardom this weekend as his ‘jahmazing’ debut album release Love Never Fails is on track to knock Robin Thick’s Blurred Lines off the top of the Official Albums Chart.

The 10-track album features Jahmene’s covers of David Guetta and Sia’s Titanium, Beyonce’s Halo and a duet of Whitney Houston’s The Greatest Love Of All with his X Factor mentor, Nicole Scherzinger, among others.

This week’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 5 is completed by Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines (Number 2), Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail (3), Passenger’s All The Little Lights (4) and former Disney princess Selena Gomez, who is new in at Number 5 with her debut solo release, Stars Dance.

New Entries

In addition to Jahmene Douglas (Number 1) and Selena Gomez (5), there are three other new entries on today’s Official Albums Chart Update.

Hey! Hello!, the new project from The Wildhearts’ mainman Ginger and New York singer Victoria Liedtke, debuts at Number 12 on today’s Update with their eponymous debut album. The recording sessions for the record were funded by fans using the crowdsourcing website www.pledgemusic.com, and the album’s cover art was designed by legendary artist Frank Kozik (Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Red Hot Chili Peppers). Should it maintain its momentum, Hey! Hello! will be Ginger’s highest charting album since The Wildhearts’ iconic second album, P.H.U.Q., peaked at Number 6 backin 1995.

Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones debut at Number 15 with their new live outing, Hyde Park Live. The 19-track album features highlights recorded during their concerts on July 6th and 13th, which marked nearly 44 years since the band first played London’s Hyde Park.

And finally, Worcester electronic duo F**k Buttons are heading for their first Top 40 album on Sunday with their third full-length, Slow Focus (30).
