He may have come second in the 2012 series of The X Factor, but Jahméne Douglas is set to beat winner James Arthur to the stores with the release of his debut album.
Jahméne, who was mentored by Number 1 solo artist and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the show, has announced an album of cover versions entitled Love Never Fails, out July 22.
The first single will be a cover of the David Guetta and Sia Number 1 smash, Titanium. Other covers on the album include reworkings of Beyoncé’s Halo and Emeli Sandé’s Next To Me.
Chart Facts
The original version of Titanium, by David Guetta & Sia, hit Number 1 in January 2012 and sold over 1 million copies, spending an incredible 80 weeks on the Official Singles Chart.
Emeli Sandé originally took Next To Me to Number 2 in February 2012, selling over 670,000 singles.
Beyoncé’s classic version of Halo was a Number 4 hit on the Official Singles Chart back in March 2009, and was another huge seller, racking up over 630,000 copies.
