X Factor champions Rak-Su have made their Official Singles Chart debut with their winner's single Dimelo.

The track lands at Number 2 on the chart following its release late last Sunday (Dec 3). Dimelo, which was written by the group, features Wyclef Jean and Naughty Boy, who performed with Rak-Su in the live final.

The chart position is one better than the last year’s winner Matt Terry, who peaked at 3 with When Christmas Comes Around. X Factor's 2015 winner Louisa Johnson is the only other contestant not to reach Number 1 with her winner's single - Forever Young peaked at Number 9

Dimelo now a contender for the 2017 Official Christmas Number 1, which this year is revealed on Friday, December 22. Seven of the X Factor's previous 13 winners have secured it –  Ben Haenow's Something I Need was the most recent, back in 2014.

this article is a fluff piece, I personally think its a shambles that 5 million people watched them win with the original song - a song the audience was already familar with and supposedly liked - yet out of those 5 million not enough sales or streams to get above 89K units? Ed Sheeran sold got that no.1 with a re-release of a song thats been out since March. Laughable.
- in their defence Beyonce is featured, its pretty hard to compete with an Ed/Beyoncé collab since every move they make is followed by the industry.
