Wiz Khalifa heading for second UK chart-topper with See You Again
The rapper's Fast & Furious 7 track leads the way on this week's Official Chart Update.
Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again leads the race for this week’s Official Singles Chart top spot.
The song features on the soundtrack to Fast & Furious 7 and pays tribute to cast member Paul Walker, who passed away during the filming of the blockbuster in November 2013.
See You Again, which entered the chart at Number 22 last week, was co-written and produced by newcomer Charlie Puth, who also sings on the track.
While See You Again is set to score Puth his debut UK Top 40, Wiz Khalifa has scored six Top 40s to date, topping the Official Singles Chart in 2012 as a guest feature on Maroon 5’s Payphone.
See You Again is currently over 32,000 combined chart sales ahead of its nearest competitor, reggae- pop artist OMI, whose track Cheerleader leaps 25 places to Number 2.
New at Number 3 is Spanish house DJ/producer Dr Kucho!’s Gregor Salto collaboration Can’t Stop Playing FT Ane Brun, Jess Glynne’s Hold My Hand slides from 1 to 4, and UK grime artist Lethal Bizzle starts at Number 5 with Fester Skank FT Diztortion.
New entries
Irish band Kodaline are on track to score a fourth Top 40 this weekend with romantic ballad The One (19), and Robyn’s Dancing On My Own (29) heads back to the Top 40 for fourth week thanks to Calum Scott’s performance of the track on last weekend’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Finally, Iggy Azalea’s Trouble FT Jennifer Hudson climbs 13 places to Number 34.
