Will.I.Am set for first solo Number 1 with This Is Love
Black Eyed Peas star Will.I.Am looks set to score his first solo Number 1 this Sunday with new single This Is Love.
This Is Love is the follow-up to his previously highest-charting Number 3 solo hit T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) featuring Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez, which was released earlier this year. The track, co-produced by Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angello, features Dutch singer/songwriter Eva Simons. Both tracks are taken from his upcoming solo record #willpower. You can check out an interview with Will talking about the track below:
The founder and front man of The Black Eyed Peas has worked and collaborated with some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Michael Jackson, Rihanna and Cheryl . Will.I.Am has most recently been entertaining audiences as a coach on The Voice UK, mentoring and guiding Team Will through the live shows.
Chris Brown’s Don’t Wake Me Up (2) is the second highest new entry of the week so far, while Taio Cruz’s There She Goes (16) complete today’s Top 40 newcomers.
Hackney Weekend's chart impact
No less than 84 tracks in today’s Official Chart Update Top 200 feature artists who appeared on the bill of Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend – the BBC’s largest ever outdoor concert which took place on East London’s Hackney Marshes last weekend.
Saturday night headliner Jay-Z has received a boost, N****s In Paris climbs 27 places to Number 17, while 99 Problems jumps 61 places to Number 47.
Rihanna, who closed the event on the Sunday evening has seven different tracks in today’s Top 200 – Princess Of China, Where Have You Been, We Found Love FT Calvin Harris, Take Care, Run This Town, Talk That Talk and Love The Way You Lie. Not content with headlining Radio 1's Hackney Weekend - Rihanna can now add the mammoth feat of 20 million record sales to her list of career achievements here in the UK, the Official Charts Company can confirm.
