Will Young will be releasing some new music before he heads out on the road this summer.

The singer-songwriter revealed on ITV's Lorraine that he will be putting out a covers collection of his favourite songs later this year.

"It's an EP, so it's five or six tracks," he said. I've done covers for years and I've always wanted to do it. I went in with my band and we recorded it all live - it's all in one take. I'm really pleased with it. It's coming out soon.

Revealing he'd recorded "50 or 60 songs" for it, he explained: "Whittling it down [was hard]. I turned it around to my managers and their years of experience.

The release follows last summer's 85% Proof album, which debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart and includes the singles Love Revolution and Joy. Click here to check out Will Young's full Official Chart history, including four Number 1 singles.
