Wiley’s Heatwave looks set for a second week at Number 1
Wiley, the East London grime star currently topping the Official Singles Chart looks set to maintain his position at the summit for a second week running.
The sun-soaked summer 2012 hit Heatwave gave the ‘King Of Grime’ his first UK solo Number 1 last weekend, and at today’s midweek point still leads over Calvin Harris FT Example’s We’ll Be Coming Back (2), both tracks sold over 100,000 copies upon their release last week.
New entries and climbers
Today’s highest new entry comes courtesy of four-piece pop rockers Lawson who are looking on track to claim their second Top 5 single of the year on Sunday. Taking Over Me (3) is the follow up to debut single When She Was Mine which peaked at Number 4 earlier this summer, and will provide Andy, Ryan, Joel and Adam with their highest charting single to date if they can hold on to their midweek Number 3 position through until Sunday.
Redlight, who debuted on the Official Singles Chart in January with the Top 20 dancefloor smash Get Out Of My Head, are back with new single Lost In Your Love at Number 5.
Elsewhere, Dizzee Rascal FT Pepper’s Scream is new in at 23, and Icelandic indie folk outfit, Of Monsters And Men are on course to score their first Official Singles Chart Top 40 position with Little Talks.
Brit pop icons Blur are today’s Official Singles Chart Update highest climbers, as Under The Westway soars 89 places to Number 28. The band are due to close the BT London Live Olympic festival site in Hyde Park this weekend.
