Union J heading for first Number 1 single with You Got It All

Christmas has come early for former X Factor contestants Union J, who are set to score their first Official Singles Chart Number 1 on Sunday with You Got It All.

The ballad is the second single to be lifted from the group’s upcoming second studio album of the same name, which is set for UK release on Monday.

If its sales momentum continues into the weekend, You Got It All will mark Josh, JJ, George and Jaymi’s fourth Top 10 single, following 2013’s Carry You (6) and Beautiful Life (8), and 2014’s Tonight (We Live Forever) (9).

You Got It All is currently just over 2,500 sales ahead of its nearest competition, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud (2).

Current Number 1, Take That’s These Days, slides two places to 3, while Bristol-based dance duo, Blonde, make their debut at 4 with I Loved You FT Melissa Steel.

Rounding out today’s Top 5 is Taylor Swift with Blank Space (5), which is on track to scores its highest chart position to date.

New entries

Ella Henderson is new at 15 midweek with Yours. The track, which is on course to be Ella’s third UK Top 20, is the third single to be lifted from the singer’s Official Albums Chart Number 1, Chapter One.

Ella’s debut, Ghost, has also re-entered the Top 40 today, at 36.

Elsewhere, Sia’s Chandelier has climbed an impressive 24 places to Number 16 since the weekend, after a performance of the track on Saturday night by The X Factor contestant Andrea Faustini.

And it wouldn’t be the first week of December without some good old Christmas tunes in the mix! Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You (22) and The Pogues’ Fairytale Of New York FT Kirsty MacColl (30) are set to score their 37th and 48th (non-consecutive) week in the Top 40, respectively.
