Tim Chadwick tackles self-confidence on his wistful sad-banger I Need To Know: first listen preview

If you're a pop music fan, then Tim Chadwick is a definite One To Watch.

The Irish rising star is back with his new single I Need To Know, an electronic sad-banger laden with soulful vocals akin to Sam Sparro and Boy George. If you're into either of Twin Shadow or Troye Sivan, then Tim will be right up your street.

I Need To Know addresses self-confidence in a relationship, having faith in your partner that they're as happy as you are. Tim's breathy, wistful vocals capture that notion perfectly in the transitional bridge: "But you're looking at me as I'm looking at you, I can't tell what you're thinking, you know I never do." The song is a direct call-to-action, asking a partner to reassert their belief in you.

Production was handled by Dubliner production trio Diffusion Lab who have worked alongside fellow Irish newcomers Jafaris and Rocstrong. I Need To Know was mixed by Jackson Dimiglio-Wood who worked on Shawn Mendes' Illuminate album.

If we were to put I Need To Know on a playlist with other recent songs, it would sit alongside Lauv's I'm So Tired, Maybe You're The Reason by The Japanese House and Shura's BKLYNLDN.
