The Weeknd is one of the biggest musicians on the planet right now. His new album After Hours has been released, the era captivating fans with its atmospheric music videos and 80s-influenced singles such as the Number 1 smash Blinding Lights. His record label have described his album as "the zeitgeist musical moment of the year" and it's hard to argue the fact.

The Weeknd has spawned a huge 24 Top 50 hits in Ireland, more than the likes of Sam Smith, Khalid and Rita Ora.

Real name Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd has scored a modest six Top 10 hits, with all but one going Top 5.

While it took The Weeknd nine years into his career to claim his first UK Number 1 single, he strode to the top spot of the Official Irish Singles Chart in just four years. Can't Feel My Face spent two weeks at Number 1 in 2015, and he returned to the helm in 2020 with Blinding Lights.

While Abel's latest album includes no features, he's got by with a little help from his friends in the past, and has scored Top 50 hits with Ariana Grande, Daft Punk, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Gesaffelstein, Sza and Travis Scott.
