The Weeknd, Madonna & Playboi Carti top Official Trending Chart with Popular
The Queen of Pop could secure her first Top 10 single in 15 years this week.
The Weeknd, Madonna and Playboi Carti are showing us all the meaning of the word Popular as they top the Official Trending Chart this week, ahead of their slow-burning collab about to finally climb into the Top 10.
Originally released on the soundtrack of The Weeknd's ambitious dark comedy-dram The Idol on HBO last year, Popular has proved...well...very popular, even long after its mother-series stopped airing, and conversation around it stopped.
Today, it tops the Official Trending Chat for the first time, and is expected to enter the UK Top 10 for the first time this week at Number 10. It would be the Weeknd's 16th Top 10 single, Playboi Carti's first Top 10 single. And even more impressive, it would see the Queen of Pop Madonna earn her landmark 64th (!) Top 10 single, and first in 15 years, since Celebration (banger) in 2009.
Elsewhere, Benson Boone could leap up to another brand new peak with Beautiful Things. Last week, it became the viral TikTok sensation's first UK Top 20 single, and is predicted to reach Number 13 on Friday.
Big gains this week could come from Kygo & Ava Max (Whatever), The Last Dinner Party (Nothing Matters) and our possible biggest jumper, YG Marley (Praise Jah In The Moonlight).
New entries on the Official Trending Chart include Skepta's Gas Me Up (Diligent), taken from his forthcoming sixth LP Knife and Fork, the first album from the Mercury Prize-winning MC in 5 years.
Skepta's also joined by Justin Timberlake's comeback single Selfish, Yung Filly's Grey and Megan Thee Stallion's headline-grabbing diss track, Hiss.

The song is just "Celebration", not "Celebration (banger)"
