The Weeknd is Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart following his surprise release My Dear Melancholy
The Weeknd takes the Number 1 spot on this week's Official Trending Chart following the surprise release of his new album My Dear Melancholy.
Call Out My My Name from the collection leads the trending tally - a Top 20 chart based on the momentum of new songs climbing up the Official Singles Chart (full chart methodology at the bottom of the page). The song could debut inside the Top 10 this week, while another track, Try Me, is currently inside the Top 20. See where all of The Weeknd's singles and albums have charted in the UK here.
The Weeknd - real name Abel Tesfaye - teased the six-track album on Instagram just days before its release. My Dear Melancholy follows 2016's Starboy album, which peaked at Number 5 on the Official Albums Chart and has sold 300,00 in the UK. His new record is also on course for a Top 5 debut.
Elsewhere on this week's Official Trending Chart, Charlie Puth's Done For Me ft. Kehlani is making waves as it edges closer to the Official Singles Chart Top 40 this week (currently at 44), and is Banx & Ranx and Ella Eyre's new track Answerphone ft. Yxng Bane.
Taylor Swift's latest Reputation album spin-off Delicate features in this week's trending Top 20 as it scales the Top 100, up 32 spots to 59 in the latest Official Singles Chart sales flash, and US rapper/producer Rich The Kid features with Plug Walk, taken from his newly-released debut album The World Is Yours.

About the Official Trending Chart
The Official Trending Chart was launched in 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.
The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.
The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.
Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Sign Of The Times by Harry Styles, New Rules by Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do.
The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
