The Voice's Leah McFall scores Top 10 single with I Will Survive
23-year-old Leah McFall bags The Voice UK its first Official Top 10 hit!
The Voice might not be over, but Leah McFall is already a winner today after clocking up an Official Singles Chart Top 10 hit!
The Northern Irish fashion student, who is mentored by will.i.am on the show, wowed both the coaches and the viewers during last Friday night’s quarter final (June 7) with her cover of Gloria Gaynor’s 1979 Number 1 smash, I Will Survive. After less than 48 hours on sale, Leah’s version rocketed into last Sunday’s Official Singles Chart at Number 16.
One week on, and Leah’s I Will Survive has climbed a further eight places to enter the Official Singles Chart at Number 8 today! Not only is it Leah’s first Top 10 single, it’s also the first Top 10 single for the show too; The Voice’s previous highest charting singles artist was Tyler James, who peaked at Number 28 last October with Single Tear.
