The Vamps lead incredibly close race for singles Number 1
Plus there are new entries in the Top 40 from Philip George and Natalie La Rose.
It’s an nail-bitingly close battle for this week’s Official Singles Chart Number 1, as just 2,000 copies separate the entire Top 5 at this midway stage.
The Vamps’ Wake Up, the lead single from their second studio album of the same name, currently leads the pack, with four sales days remaining. If the track does hold on to the top spot, it will mark the group’s first UK Number 1. 2013’s Can We Dance and 2014’s Last Night claim The Vamps’ current Official Chart peak of Number 2.
British DJ and producer Philip George is on course to score the highest climber of the week with his new single Alone No More with Anton Powers, up 122 places to Number 2 today.
Former chart-topper Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean starts at 3 today, trailed by R. City’s Locked Away feat. Adam Levine (4) and reigning Number 1 Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall (5).
New entries
Natalie La Rose is on track to score her second UK Top 10 this week with Around The World feat. Fetty Wap (7), while Duke Dumont’s Ocean Drive is heading for its Top 40 debut (31).
Kygo’s Firestone feat. Conrad Sewell re-enters the Top 40 at 38 midweek, followed by MNEK & Zara Larsson’s Never Forget You (39) and Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams (40).
