The Vaccines and Two Door Cinema Club are going head-to-head in the race to Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart.
According to today’s Official Chart Update, The Vaccines have taken an early lead with their newly released second album, Come Of Age, currently sat in pole position. Meanwhile County Down trio Two Door Cinema Club’s Beacon, which is also their second album, is just 5,000 copies behind the London indie rockers at Number 2.
If both bands can maintain their current chart leads, Come Of Age and Beacon will be their highest charting releases to date (The Vaccines’ 2011 album, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, and Two Door Cinema Club’s 2010 album, Tourist History, previously reached Number 4 and Number 24, respectively, on the Official Albums Chart).
Reigning Official Albums Chart queen Rita Ora slips from number 1 to Number 3 with her debut album, ORA, while Ronan Keating’s ninth studio album, Fires, looks set to debut at Number 4. Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events (5), which last week overtook Adele’s 21 to become the biggest selling album of 2012 so far, completes this week’s Official Albums Chart Update Top 5.
