To celebrate Halloween, we countdown the Top 10 bestselling Halloween-related films of 2013 so far.
For those of you who are not out trick or treating this All Hallows' Eve, and are stuck for something spooktacular to watch, OfficialCharts.com have compiled the Official Top 10 Bestselling Halloween DVD And Blu-rays Of 2013 so far.
Vampires and werewolves normally make good antagonists in a scary film, don’t they? Well, horror aficionados probably should look away now as we reveal that The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 tops the chart with more than 1.1 million sales so far this year. Indeed, watching Edward and Jacob et al probably won’t have you hiding behind the sofa, but for fans of sensitive supernaturals there’s plenty to sink your teeth into here. Part 1 of Breaking Dawn is also at Number 7 on the Top 10.
If truth be told Sony Pictures’ Hotel Transylvania (Number 2) is probably more Munsters than monsters, too. But this animated children’s film (starring Adam Sandler as Count Dracula and Selena Gomez as his 118-year-old daughter, Mavis), will keep the whole family entertained.
The first genuinely scary film in this Top 10 is Prometheus (Number 3) - Ridley Scott’s prequel to his 1979 sci-fi horror epic, Alien. Starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron, the crew of Prometheus travel to a distant moon in search of the origins of humanity, only to uncover a threat that could lead to our extinction. ParaNorman (The Sixth Sense for children) is fourth on the chart, while Brad Pitt’s zombie apocalypse film, World War Z, completes the Top 5.
