As Deadpool & Wolverine slides into a seventh consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Film Chart, two sci-fi horrors start an ascent up the Top 10.

Alien: Romulus bounces back up five places this week to its previous peak of Number 2, managing the feat on digital downloads only. Also on the climb is satirical body horror film The Substance, starring Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, up one place to a peak of Number 4.

Despicable Me 4 (3) also lifts one place, while 2000 classic Gladiator (5), starring Russell Crowe, sprints 11 places following the cinematic release of its long-awaited (24 years, to be exact) sequel, Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal.

As the UK sees its first flurry of snow this week, Christmas films are beginning to creep into the Official Film Chart. The Grinch (2018) sleighs up 13 places to Number 6, while outside the Top 10 we can see The Polar Express (14) and Elf (17) on the rise.

The rest of this week’s Top 10 is made up of some recent chart favourites, modern romantic drama It Ends With Us (7) down 5, The Fall Guy (8) which is a re-entry this week, Joker: Folie à Deux (9) and Dune: Part Two (10).
