After the unexpected release of a new single last week, The Stone Roses are set to secure their first Top 40 in 17 years on the Official Singles Chart this week.

All For One - the band's first brand new music in 21 years - enters at Number 4 on this week's Official Chart Update, following its surprise release last Thursday (May 12).

The song is all-but-certain to be the band's first Top 40 entry since 1999, when a remix of their 1989 single Fools Gold reached Number 25.

And if the song's sales momentum continues at its current pace, it'll be their first Top 10 single in nearly 22 years, since 1994's Number 2-peaking Love Spreads.

The Stone Roses first reformed for a series of gigs back in 2012, and are scheduled to perform a string of shows and festivals this summer, including four nights at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.

All For One is rumoured to be leading a brand new album from the band - their first since 1994's Second Coming - after frontman Ian Brown confirmed they were in the studio making "glorious" new music.

Posters of the band's famous lemon logo, which adorned the cover of their first album, have also been appearing across the world, sparking rumours of an imminent third album.
