The Script hold onto Number 1 on Official Streaming Chart

The Script’s Hall Of Fame may have been knocked off the top of the Official Singles Chart by PSY’s Gangnam Style on Sunday, but it remains the UK’s most listened to track for a second week running!

Hall Of Fame, which features Black Eyed Peas mainman Will.I.Am, hit Number 1 on the Official Streaming Chart last week. The Official Streaming Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company on behalf of the British music industry, and has been running since May. It is the first chart which ranks audio streams from both ad-funded and subscription streaming services in the UK, which reflects the increasing interest in the new generation of music services such as Spotify, Deezer, Napster and We7.

K-pop sensation Psy’s Gangnam Style surges a massive 21 places to take the Number 2 slot after seven weeks on the chart while former Official Streaming Chart Number 1, Taylor Swift’s We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, is down one place to Number 3.

This week’s Top 5 is completed by Mumford & Sons’ I Will Wait (up 27 places to Number 4) and Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen’s Good Time at Number 5.

New Entries And Highest Climbers

There are grand total of 15 new entries on this week’s Official Streaming Chart, the lion’s share of which (11) belong to Mumford & Sons.

Babel, the title track from the band’s Number 1 second album of the same name, is at 21, followed by Whispers In The Dark (25), Holland Road (27), Ghosts That We Knew (33), Lover Of The Light (33), Lover’s Eyes (40), Hopeless Wanderer (47), Broken Crown (50), Reminder (52), Below My Feet (54) and Not With Haste (63).

N-Dubz star Dappy’s Good Intentions debuts at 51, while Ottow Knows’ Million Voices is at Number 67. Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean’s Clique is at 78, while The Fray’s 2006 anthem, How To Save A Life, makes its Official Streaming Chart debut at Number 99.

This week’s highest climber is Conor Maynard FT Ne-Yo’s Turn Around, which soars 47 places from Number 92 to Number 45. David Guetta FT Sia’s She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) climbs 34 places to Number 29, and Mumford & Sons’ The Cave (Number 56) and Little Lion Man (65) are up 33 and 32 places, respectively.
