The Official Charts Advent Calendar: Day 1

So, it's now December, the final run up to Christmas and New Year has started, so we at the Official Charts Company thought we would celebrate with our own little Advent Calendar, counting down all the Number Ones of 2011 day-by-day.

To mark December 1, we present the first Number 1 of 2011, which takes us all the way back to the announcement on January 2 that Rihanna Ft Drake's 'What's My Name?' had taken over from Matt Cardle at the top, for its single week at the summit.

The single sold 53,000 copies that week, towards the 341,000 copies it has sold to date in 2011. Of course, 'What's My Name?' was first released in 2010 and has now sold a solid 768,000 copies in its lifetime. It was a great Number One to kick the year off with, certainly one of our favourite tracks of 2011. Is it yours?
