Today, BBC Radio 2 announced a one-off special programme to celebrate 70 years of the Official Singles Chart, The Listeners' Charts.

The one-hour special - set to air in November - will feature memories, songs and stories about classic chart moments from over the past 70 years.

How have the charts soundtracked your life? What part did the charts play in your childhood? Did you listen/watch with friends or family? Who is your favourite chart show presenter? Did you tape the charts or write them down? What are your memories of the big chart stories, shocks and surprises? How important have the charts been to you? Radio 2 would like to hear your stories.

Music fans who would like to share their favourite moments and memories are encouraged to send an email to the show's producers answering the following questions...

  • What is your name and where do you live?
  • What was the first single you bought?
  • In no more than a few lines, tell us your chart story or memory
