Fans have been paying tribute to late house pioneer, Frankie Knuckles, by buying his classic track, Your LoveFrankie passed away earlier this week after, what is believed to be, complications resulting from Type 2 diabetes. He was 59 years old.

Your Love - Frankie’s signature track which he produced in the 1980s and famously went on to provide the bed for dance classic You Got The Love by The Source FT Candi Staton - originally peaked at Number 59 on the Official Singles Chart back in 1989, and is currently riding at Number 35 on today’s Update counting sales up to midnight last night across all chart-reporting retailers.  The midweek re-entry has been helped along by a Facebook campaign rallying to get the Chicago legend to Number 1.

If momentum continues, this would give the affectionately named Godfather of House his first UK Top 40 chart placing in almost 20 years.  Frankie’s last Top 40 hit was 1995’s Whadda You Want (From Me) FT Adeva, which reached Number 36, and his personal best here in the UK was 1991’s Top 20 hit The Whistle Song which peaked at Number 17.  View Frankie’s full UK chart history here.
