The Killers celebrate eighth Number 1 album with Rebel Diamonds
The group's second hits compilation reaches the summit this week
Congratulations are in order for The Killers, who secure their eighth Official Number 1 album with Rebel Diamonds today.
The Las Vegas-formed rock outfit, comprising Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Ronnie Vannucci Jr. and Mark Stoermer, reach the summit with their second hits compilation. In doing so, they surpass the peak of their first greatest hits release; 2013’s Direct Hits which reached Number 5.
Rebel Diamonds joins Hot Fuss (2004), Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), Wonderful Wonderful (2017), Imploding the Mirage (2020) and Pressure Machine (2021) in the group’s tally of chart-topping albums.
Rebel Diamonds claims the top spot on this week’s Official Vinyl Albums Chart, too.
The Killers now also draw level with Oasis, Led Zeppelin, R.E.M., Stereophonics and Westlife on the ranking of acts with the most Official UK Number 1 albums to their name, boasting eight apiece. See the full list of artists with the most UK Number 1 albums here.

Nicki Minaj secures her highest-charting LP in over a decade with Pink Friday 2 this week (3). Her third Top 10 record to date, which includes collaborations with the likes of Drake, Lil Uzi Vert and J. Cole, earns Nicki her highest peak since 2012, when Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded topped the chart.
It’s a career-best for Tate McRae this week, as THINK LATER secures the Canadian singer-songwriter her first Top 5 album (5). The parent LP of hit singles greedy and exes, it follows the success of Tate’s 2022 debut I Used to Think I Could Fly (7). THINK LATER also debuts inside the Official Record Store Chart Top 5, proving one of the most popular releases in the UK’s independent record shops this week (2).
Andre Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra’s Jewels of Romance rebounds back into the Top 20 today, up seven spots (19).
Kylie Minogue’s former chart-topper Tension (29) vaults back into the Top 40 following the release of its multi-format remixed edition Extension (The Extended Mixes). The album also sees success on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart (3) and Official Record Store Chart (4).

Finally, English rock outfit Porcupine Tree secure a third Top 40 album with CLOSURE / CONTINUATION. LIVE. AMSTERDAM 07/11/22 (32), a live recording of the group’s 2022 LP CLOSURE / CONTINUATION (2).
