The Killers set for eighth UK Number 1 album with hits collection Rebel Diamonds
The Killers are set to debut at Number 1 with their latest hits collection, Rebel Diamonds.
The Las Vegas rockers – comprising Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Ronnie Vannucci Jr and Mark Stoermer – have already claimed seven chart-topping albums in the UK; Hot Fuss (2004), Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), Wonderful Wonderful (2017), Imploding the Menace (2020) and Pressure Machine (2021).
Outselling its nearest competition more than 2:1, Rebel Diamonds could also be the first greatest hits LP by The Killers to hit Number 1 in the UK. Their last, 2013’s Direct Hits, peaked at Number 5.
Meanwhile, the Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj and rising Canadian pop superstar Tate McRae also throw their hats in the ring as they mark an all-new Top 3 midweek.
Nicki’s fifth album Pink Friday 2 acts as a sequel to her influential 2010 debut Pink Friday, and is predicted to debut at Number 2 to become her third Top 10 album. The original Pink Friday record peaked at Number 16 upon its release.
But less than 100 chart units behind is Canadian upstart Tate McRae with her confident second album THINK LATER (3), which already boasts two Top 20 hits; the booming greedy (3) and the slinky exes (12). It could become Tate’s second Top 10 LP, following 2022 debut I Used to Think I Could Fly (7).
Elsewhere in the Top 10, Kylie Minogue’s Extension (The Extended Mixes) is on track to debut at Number 8. Extension acts as a remixed companion LP to her chart-topping 16th album Tension.
English rockers Porcupine Tree are also looking to secure their second Top 10 album this year with live LP Closure/Continuation.Live (9). The band earned their first Top 10 with Number 2-peaking Closure/Continuation in July.
Following the release of his Charlie Lightening-directed All of Those Voices documentary on DVD, Louis Tomlinson's former Number 1 album Faith in the Future looks set to make a return to the Top 20 this week at Number 16.
Andre Rieu & his Johann Strauss Orchestra prepare to re-enter the Top 20 with Jewels of Romance (19), while Bring Me The Horizon celebrate the 10th anniversary of their fourth album Sempiternal with a brand-new reissue (25). The album originally charted at Number 3 in 2013.
Bryan Adams’ Live at the Royal Albert Hall is set to become the rock icon’s 21st Top 40 album (36) and, finally, Neil Young’s Before and After could become the singer, songwriter and activist’s 47th UK Top 40 collection (40).
