The Greatest Showman - Reimagined enlists Pink, Panic at the Disco and Kelly Clarkson for new versions of movie's popular hits
The show must go on, with a fresh twist.
The Greatest Showman's mega-popular Motion Picture Cast Recording is getting a new lease of life from some all-star voices.
Released on November 16, The Greatest Showman - Reimagined brings together some of the world's biggest recording artists to sing their own versions of the music movie's popular hits.
Keala Settle's Oscar-nominated song This Is Me will now include vocal additions from Kesha and Missy Elliot for its Reimagined remix, while UK Top 40 entry A Million Dreams will be sung by P!nk. Real name Alecia Moore, the What About Us star's daughter Willow Sage Hart makes her singing debut on a reprise of her Mum's track. Listen to A Million Dreams below.
A great showman in his own right, Panic! At The Disco aka Brendon Urie will belt out The Greatest Show, while Kelly Clarkson takes on Never Enough, originally sung by Loren Allred in the film.
While hugely successful across the world, The Greatest Showman original album has seen most of its success on UK shores. A conscious choice from Atlantic Records' president, west coast Kevin Weaver, many British artists cover songs on the Reimagined edition to cater to a UK audience.
"It was important to me to really try to do something to serve the UK market," Weaver told Variety. "So that’s the why I put James Arthur and Anne-Marie on one of the most important songs, and why I put Jess Glynne and Years & Years on Come Alive, and why I added a Craig David version of Come Alive as a bonus track — to be thoughtful to the success of the album in the UK, wanting to include elements that honored that.”
Here on the UK's Official Charts, The Greatest Showman was a runaway success. To date, it's logged 21 weeks at Number 1 (11 of which were consecutive, the joint-longest successive run at the top in 30 years with Adele's 21) and has shifted 1.2 million.
Unsurprisingly, it's currently the UK's biggest album of 2018, based on Official Charts Company data, has spent 40 consecutive weeks in the Top 5, and is the longest running Number 1 soundtrack in 50 years.
Another new version of the album, The Sing-A-Long Edition, is released on October 19. Click here to view the biggest albums still to come in 2018.
