2019 is starting off well for Irish music, with Dublin singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy smashing into the Official Irish Albums Chart Top 10.

Dermot’s self-titled release, described by the rising star as “all the songs you've been singing back to me in one collection”, trails his debut studio album which is coming out later in 2019, and begins at Number 8.

The Greatest Showman’s Motion Picture Cast Recording secures an 18th non-consecutive week at Number 1, while Dua Lipa’s self-titled debut album returns to the Top 5 at Number 5 in anticipation for her new single Swan Song, released on January 25.

Billie Eilish’s EP Don’t Smile At Me rockets to a new peak for the second week in a row, up four to Number 7, as does Fleetwood Mac’s 50th anniversary collection Don’t Stop, hitting a new high of Number 12.

Clean Bandit’s sophomore album What Is Love? climbs to Number 28, its strongest showing yet, and finally, 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was advances to Number 30.
