Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do shatters YouTube viewing record
Look what Taylor Swift made us do: the video for her new single has smashed a viewing record on YouTube after racking up millions (and millions) of views in its first 24 hours.
The Jospeh Kahn-directed visual for Look What You Made Me Do notched up 43.2 million views in its first 24 hours, which breaks down to 30,000 per minute, Deadline reports.
The figure crushes the previous record set by Psy's Gangnam Style, which was watched 36 million times in 24 hours in 2013.
The clip, which satirises her perceived persona and is packed with subtle references and Easter Eggs, was premiered during MTV's VMAs last Sunday (Aug 27).
The song also broke a record on Spotify, where it was played a total of 10,129,087 times last Friday - more than any other song has achieved in a single day.
LWYMMD is the lead single from Taylor's upcoming album reputation, which follows in November 10. The track is currently on course to become the star's first Number 1 on the Official UK Singles Chart.
Official Charts recently revealed Taylor's Top 20 biggest singles in the UK, featuring her nine Top 10 singles.

I'm starting to think the video is some of the most brilliant irony I've ever seen. Did she make a diss track just to play the petty, vengeful ? The zombie rises from a grave with "Taylor Swift's reputation" on the tombstone, and the Taylor on top of they mountain of earlier Taylors has "rep" on her sweater. This seems to indicate that her reputation is the real creator of the song.
