Taylor Swift to release new song Only The Young alongside Netflix documentary Miss Americana
Taylor Swift will unveil a new song titled Only The Young from her upcoming Netflix documentary Miss Americana, it has been announced.
The song will be released on Friday, January 31 - the same day as the film premieres on Netflix. The doc's official debut will be at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23.
Only The Young is said to be a song for young people "who might've come away disillusioned with the political process". Scenes in Miss Americana show Taylor writing the track, inspired by witnessing candidates she had backed in the 2018 US midterms lose their challenge.

The documentary, directed by Lana Wilson, follows Taylor's life and the course of her career over several years, including the release of her 2017 album Reputation and last year's Lover, which ranks as one of the UK's biggest albums of 2019.
The film also shows Taylor's reaction to her mother's cancer diagnosis, having recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour. "She was going through chemo, and that’s a hard enough thing for a person to go through,” Taylor says in the documentary. "While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumour.
"And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumour is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before."
