Taylor Swift surprise drops new version of festive single Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version)
Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version) will be a track exclusive to Amazon Music listeners as part of their Christmas collection.
Taylor Swift has surprised-released a new version of her festive single Christmas Tree Farm.
Dropped without prior announcement today (November 22), Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version) is released exclusively to Amazon Music as part of its Amazon Originals Christmas line-up.
Taylor recorded the new version of Christmas Tree Farm at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, and it features a brand-new arrangement, accompanied by a 70-piece orchestra.
The song was originally released in 2019 and written as an ode to the actual Christmas tree farm Taylor grew up on in Pennsylvania before moving to Nashville to pursue a music career. Watch a clip of Taylor recording Christmas Tree Farm (Old Timey Version) below.

"This new version is amazing," Taylor says of the track. "It feels like it's that more laid-back Christmas feel [...] it's definitely more old-school."
The new release from her also comes just one week after Red (Taylor's Version) debuted atop the Official Albums Chart. Her eighth UK Number 1 album, Taylor now ties with Kylie Minogue as the female solo artist with the second-most in the chart history. Only Madonna, with 12, has more.
Earlier this month, Amazon Music unveiled its exclusive line-up of Christmas songs by artists such as George Ezra, Camila Cabello and Alessia Cara.
For the past two years, the exclusive Christmas songs available via Amazon Music have proved exceedingly popular in the run-up to Christmas. Last year, Jess Glynne's This Christmas rose to a peak of Number 3 on the Official Singles Chart, while in 2019 Ellie Goulding's cover of Joni Mitchell's River became her third UK Number 1 single.
