There could also be Top 5 debuts from New Model Army and Headie One.

Taylor Swift is speeding ahead in the race for this week’s Number 1 album with her seventh studio album Lover, potentially knocking Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project down to Number 2.

Clocking over 36,000 chart sales so far across physical sales, downloads and streaming equivalent sales, Taylor is well on her way to claiming her fourth consecutive Number 1 with the record, which features Top 40 hits Me ft. Brendon Urie, You Need To Calm Down and title track Lover.

Also eyeing Top 5 debuts, Bradford rockers New Model Army’s latest release From Here could be their highest ever charting album as they head towards their 40th anniversary, currently at Number 4. London’s Headie One currently sits at Number 5 with his Music X Road mixtape.

The latest release from US collective Brockhampton, Ginger, opens at Number 12, while Massive Attack’s 1998 album Mezzanine is set to make a Top 40 return thanks to an anniversary reissue.

Headliners from last weekend’s Reading and Leeds Festivals are seeing a surge in sales: Post Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys is so far up three places to Number 25, and Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits has climbed 6 places to 27.

Finally, Texas trio Midland could claim their first UK Top 40 album with Let It Roll at 30, and Liverpool indie outfit The Night Café could see their debut album 0151 land in the Top 40, currently at Number 32.

Totally agree with you ShunB!! But i guess we have all been there...having our crush on some singer when we were that age too even though 20 years later...we noticed they were rubbish at the first place!!

None of her albums have been critically acclaimed!! To have an acclaimed album, you need some good lyrics not some bubblegum songs when a 10 years old kid could write!!
