Taylor Swift denies she's recorded a third surprise album called Woodvale
Taylor Swift has denied that she's actually recorded a third surprise album in quarantine called Woodvale.
Just last week, Taylor dropped her second release of the year, Evermore, as a follow-up and companion piece to Folklore, which too was released earlier in 2020 within hours of a prior announcement.
But as fans know, Taylor loves an Easter Egg - and some eagle-eyed Swifties discovered that the word 'Woodvale' was hidden in some promotional material for Folklore, leading some to wonder whether Evermore was simply the second album in a trilogy.
Making a rare TV appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last night in the US, Taylor assured the chat show host that what fans are seeing is actually a "mistake" and not a precursor to a third LP.
"When I was making Folklore I was too afraid to even unveil to reveal the title of the album to even my closest team-mates and management," she said.
"I didn't tell anyone the album title, so I came up with a fake codename that had the same amount of letters as folklore. I chose a name, I chose Woodvale."
But when she mocked up the album cover complete with fake name, she decided it was best to not show any title on the artwork whatsoever - but forgot to take the hidden name off some of the alternative cover choices that were then found by fans.
But then again, maybe that's just what she wants us to think...
Whatever the reason, you can expect Evermore to make a big impact on the Official Charts this week. It's leading the race for Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart - and would become Taylor's sixth UK Number 1 album.
Meanwhile, on the Official Singles Chart, no less than three songs from the record are set to break into the Top 20 - including lead single Willow, which is also the UK's Number 1 Trending song this week too.
