Taylor Swift and Dermot Kennedy are neck-and-neck for Number 1 on both this week's Official Irish Singles and Albums Charts.

Dermot's wave of momentum as of late continues this week, while Taylor's surprise-released album Evermore and its lead single Willow are set to make a big impact on their respective Top 50s this week.

On today (Dec. 14)'s Official Irish Singles Chart sales flash, Dermot's Giants is currently in the lead for a third week at Number 1, with Taylor's new single Willow clipping at his heels at Number 2 following initial sales and streams recorded this past weekend. Evermore album tracks Champagne Problems and No Body, No Crime ft. HAIM are also set for the Top 10 at Numbers 4 and 7.

The tables are turned on the Official Irish Albums Chart's midweek update, with Taylor edging ahead, looking to claim her sixth Number 1 album in Ireland with Evermore. With less than 200 chart sales separating the international and homegrown stars on both charts, a Number 1 on either or both countdowns is within reach for both artists.

In recent weeks, Dermot Kennedy became the first Irish soloist in modern chart history to claim an Official Chart Double, with his single Giants and debut album Without Fear topping the charts in the same week.

Also no stranger to making chart history in 2020, Taylor Swift became the female solo artist with the most Official Irish Albums Chart Number 1s of the millennium in July following the release of her Folklore album.

The cut-off for sales and streams to count towards this week’s chart is 11:59pm on Thursday (Dec. 17). This week's final Official Irish Singles and Albums Charts will be published on OfficialCharts.com/Ireland at 3pm on Friday (Dec. 18). Listen to The Official Chart every Friday on RTÉ 2FM with Bláthnaid Treacy at 7pm.
