SZA's Kill Bill tops Official Trending Chart on way to first solo UK Top 10 single

The latest hit from Solana Rowe's sophomore album SOS is challenging for Number 1 this week.

SZA tops the Official Trending Chart today with SOS track Kill Bill, currently on course to become her first solo UK Top 10 single.

The second track on Solana Rowe's accomplished sophomore record of course borrows its name from Quentin Tarantino's cinematic duology of the same name, starring Uma Thurman as the vengeful Bride, who sets out to kill the man who left her for dead.

Mirroring the themes of Tarantino's work, Kill Bill the song sees SZA contemplate killing her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend out of jealousy. Despite a packed tracklist full of potential radio hits (F2F anyone?) Kill Bill has been chosen as the next single from SOS - and a music video inspired by the films should be dropping any day now.

Kill Bill is currently up a massive 30 places in the Official Singles Chart, on track to reach a new peak of Number 2. It's currently the only real opposition facing Raye's ascent to her first Number 1 with Escapism. SZA has so far logged two Top 10 hits, All The Stars with Kendrick Lamar (5) and Kiss Me More with Doja Cat (3). Kill Bill would represent her third Top 10 overall, and her first as a sole act.

Thanks to the post-Christmas exodus of festive hits on the Official Singles Chart this week, we also see lots of songs jump more than 30. 40 and in some cases over 50 places to enter the Top 40 this week.

These are: Bugzy Malone & TeeDee's Out Of Nowhere, which could become both acts first-ever Top 10 hit, Metro Boomin' The Weeknd and 21 Savage with Creepin', Lewis Capaldi's Pointless, Tiesto & Tate McRae with 10:35, Dean Lewis' How Do I Say Goodbye, JVKE's breakthrough hit Golden Hour, SZA's Shirt and Headie One's 50s.

New entries on the Official Trending Chart this week include DJ Sub Focus and Dimension's Ready To Fly, while two cuts from Taylor Swift's Midnights also appear here for the first time - Bejeweled and You're On Your Own, Kid.
