Suicide Squad face Absolutely Fabulous competition to be crowned this week's DVD best seller
We never thought The Joker and Harley Quinn would be battling Patsy and Edina.
Anti-hero comic book blockbuster Suicide Squad is on the cusp of capturing the Number 1 spot on the Official Video Chart.
As of today's Update, the Jared Leto and Will Smith-starring movie has shifted 191,000 DVDs and Blu-rays at today's midweek stage, ahead of last week's chart topper Finding Dory at 2, and Absolutely Fabulous - The Movie at Number 3. That's about as brilliantly bizarre a Top 3 you could ever wish for right there.
Suicide Squad has some ground to make up should the film want to become 2016's fastest-selling superhero movie; fellow maverick Deadpool sold just shy of 400,000 units in his week one.
New entries and high climbers
Ice Age 5/Ice Age - A Mammoth Christmas' box set launches at Number 7, while fellow new entry Pete's Dragon looks to start at Number 9. Planet Earth 2 impresses at a prospective position of Number 10, but will the documentary series hold on by Sunday?
There are more new entries looking for a place in the weekend's Top 40; The Shallow is new at 20, the second season of Marvel's Agent Carter lands at 31, while Emma Roberts and Dave Franco's Nerve looks set for a Number 35 position.
Finally, Kickboxer: Vengeance starts out at 37 and Fear The Walking Dead - Season 2 could fear missing out on the Top 40 - the new release currently sits at 38.
