Stormzy has been confirmed as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2019.

The Grime MC will top the bill on the Friday night of the iconic festival which takes place from June 26 - June 30, 2019 at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

The news was confirmed by official Glastonbury social media channels following posters appearing in Oxfam shop windows in select locations; Oxfam is one of the festival's main charities.

The posters popped up in Streatham (close to where Stormzy grew up) and Glastonbury itself. Before Glastonbury confirmed the news through official channels, staff from the Streatham branch confirmed to The Independent that the poster was authentic.

Headlining Glastonbury will be a historic moment in Stormzy's evolving career. The rapper released his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer in February 2017, with it becoming the first pure Grime album to peak at Number 1. GSAP was the 10th biggest album of 2017.
