Keep slaying, Mama.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is taking Murder on the Dancefloor to the BAFTAs stage!

It's been announced that the British pop icon will be performing her 2001 hit during the 2024 ceremony for the biggest night in British film, which is set to take place on February 18 at London's Royal Festival Hall in Southbank.

Murder is on our mind, of course, because the disco-tinged banger recently underwent a magnificent viral resurgence, thanks to its inclusion in Emerald Fennell's gothic erotic thriller Saltburn.

Saltburn is up for five BAFTAs; including acting nods for Barry Keoghan (Best Actor), Jacob Elordi (Best Supporting Actor) and Rosamund Pike (Best Supporting Actress), as well as Best Original Score and Best British Film.

Saltburn fever has well and truly gripped the nation at the start of 2024. Thanks to the film being made available to stream on Amazon Prime Video just before Christmas, the memorable closing scene, which is soundtracked by Murder on the Dancefloor, sees Keoghan strut naked throughout the titular Saltburn estate, his murderous plans having finally come to fruition.

Thanks to all the eyes on it, Murder on the Dancefloor initially re-entered the UK Top 10 for the first time in 20 years at the beginning of January, before surging all the way back to Number 2 (its original chart peak upon release in 2001), a major moment for Sophie and all the fans of this beloved British pop institution

We're all now hoping Barry Keoghan joins Sophie on stage for this rendition right...right?!
