Slipknot beat Ed Sheeran to Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart by 12 combined sales
Sean-nós vocalist Sibéal lifts to a new Top 10 peak in her second week on chart.
Congratulations to Slipknot who have scored their first Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
The masked rockers’ sixth studio album We Are Not Your Kind is their fifth consecutive Top 5 album and was the best-selling album this week on CD and vinyl formats. Slipknot snare the top spot by a narrow margin of just 12 combined sales, edging out Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project, which drops to Number 2 after four weeks leading the Top 50.

Sean-nós vocalist Sibéal jumps four places to Number 6 with her self-titled album, a new peak, while Bon Iver debut just outside the Top 10 at Number 11 with i,i; only available to digitally download and stream, the CD and vinyl versions are released on August 30.
Finally, US rapper Trippie Redd claims his second Top 20 album with ! at Number 20.

Slipknot beat Ed by 12 combined sales … really. I bet Ed beat them overall if you included websites that don't get recognised by chart sales. Needless to say next week they will be GONE and Ed will be back at No.1 for another stint.

Unlikely, This is the Bands Latest Album after 5 years. These guys were huge in the early 2000's and even in 1997. Considering this, It's way more impressive For a band that hasnt had new music for 5 or so years to reach Number one within, as of this article, 1 week. As a Maggot myself I say I want to see them smash it for however long they can!
