Can the Leeds-based dance duo deny The Vamps their first Number 1 single?

British producers Sigma look set to claim their first Official Number 1 single this weekend with Nobody To Love, while The Vamps challenge in second place.

Leeds-based dance duo, Sigma, who consist of Cameron Edwards and Joe Lenzie, released their re-working of Kanye West’s Bound 2 back in January as a free download. However, after picking up airplay from the likes of BBC Radio1 and 1Xtra they decided to release it as a proper single, and now it’s rocketing towards the summit of the Official Singles Chart, that’s a whole 54 places higher than where Kanye’s original version peaked (55).  Uh-huh, honey.

According to the Official Charts Company’s latest sales data, Nobody To Love has a lead of nearly 18,000 copies over its closest rival, Last Night (Number 2) by The Vamps, at this midway point.

Last Night is the third single to be taken from the British pop rockers’ upcoming debut album, Meet The Vamps, and looks likely to become their third consecutive Top 5 single this weekend, too. It follows October’s Can We Dance (which also peaked at Number 2) and January’s Wild Heart (which peaked at 3).

Reigning chart-topper Aloe Blacc slides two places to Number 3 on today’s midweek sales flash with The Man, and John Legend’s All Of Me is also down two to Number 4. The Top 5 is completed by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, who is on course for her highest charting UK single to date with Fancy FT Charli XCX (Number 5).

New Entries

They may be about to release their Greatest Hits album, but if their new single is anything to go by, The Saturdays’ are not planning on hanging up their microphones any time soon. The girl group’s Not Giving Up is new in at Number 11 on today’s Official Singles Chart Update.

David Guetta and Showtek’s new collaboration Bad FT Vassy enters at Number 19, while British producer Jakwob is at 36 with Somebody New FT Tiffani Juno.

Following the success of their Number 1 album, Education, Education, Education And War, on Sunday, the band’s new single, Coming Home, has climbed 17 places to enter the Official Singles Chart Update Top 40 at 28.

Idina Menzel & Kristen Bell climb 18 places to enter today’s Top 40 with For The First Time In Forever (38), which is taken from the soundtrack to Disney’s Frozen.
