It's a massive collaboration; so it comes as little surprise that Sigma and Take That's new single Cry is Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart.

The Top 20 chart, which was launched earlier this year, looks at which new tracks are making the biggest impact on the Official Chart (full methodology can be found at the bottom of this article).

Cry is Sigma's first new music since the release of their album Life last December, and the man band's first since their Hey Boy single last October. The song is set to be the highest new entry on this week's Official Singles Chart, where it is currently sitting inside the Top 10.

US up-and-comer Gnash also makes a big entry on the the trending Top 20 with I Hate You, I Love You. The track is fast becoming the singer-songwriter's global breakthrough, having already hit Number 1 in Australia, and is on course to make a sizeable leap up the Top 40 on this Friday's Official Singles Chart, (up 16 spots to Number 17 on yesterday's chart update).

Craig David's brand new single One More Time - which is set to debut inside the Top 40 this Friday (May 27) - features on the Official Trending Chart, as does This Girl by Australian trio Cookin' On 3 Burners. The dance track, which has been remixed with French producer Kungs, is set for a massive climb on the Official Singles Chart this week, currently up 57 places to Number 34 on yesterday's update).

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart  is a brand new chart launched for 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch last month has already highlighted emerging hits such as Zara Larrsson’s Lush Life and Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza, both tracks went on to become Top 5 smashes in the Official Singles Chart.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
