Sam Smith reclaims the top spot on this week's Official Trending Chart as his latest track How Do You Sleep? continues to build on streaming platforms.
Released three weeks ago, Sam’s new track - his first single since January’s Dancing With A Stranger ft. Normani - is on course to climb into this week's Top 10 on this week's Official Singles Chart. How Do You Sleep? is at Number 7 in the latest sales flash and could earn Sam his 11th UK Top 10 single. View Sam Smith’s full Official Chart history here.
The song was co-written by Sam with pop hitmakers Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and ILYA, while the accompanying music video sees Sam switch up his style and lead a troupe of dancers. It currently has 63 million views globally, including 2.4 million in the UK, according to Official Charts Company data.
Brand-new songs already making a big impact this week are Katy Perry's Small Talk, the follow-up to her Top 20 hit Never Really Over, and Hot Girl Summer by US rapper and singer Megan Thee Stallion. The Nicki Minaj-assisted track is at Number 36 in the latest sales flash and could be Megan's first UK chart entry this Friday (Aug 16).
Finally, Slipknot's Nero Forte rounds out this week's trending Top 20. The song could earn the heavy metal band a second Top 100 single from their new album We Are Not Your Kind, which is on course for Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart.
