Sam Smith unleashes new single Gimme featuring Jessie Reyez & Koffee: Listen to the elastic synth anthem now
Sam Smith is ready to give you what you want - a massive banger, basically.
Today (January 11), Sam issues the next single, Gimme, from their forthcoming new album, Gloria, featuring input from Jessie Reyez (a regular collaborator with Calvin Harris) and Koffee (who scored her first UK Top 10 album last year with Gifted).
Written by Sam alongside their go-to co-writer Jimmy Napier (Disclosure, Stormzy) as well as Norwegian pop gods Stargate (Rihanna, Sia) who also helmed production on the cut, Gimme is a feather-light electronic pop song with bite.
Accompanied by a shuddering, elasticated beat, we can hear Reyez's vocals being stretched as fine as glass over the chorus that's surely going to be stuck in everyone's head; "Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme what I want..."

MORE: Sam Smith's Official Charts history in full
Gimme constitutes as the third official release from Gloria (due to arrive January 27 via Capitol), preceded by Love Me More and the UK Number 1 single Unholy, featuring Kim Petras.
Unholy burned a bright fire up the Official Singles Chart at the end of last year - knocking David Guetta & Bebe Rexha's I'm Good (Blue) off the top spot to debut at Number 1 and becoming Sam's eighth and Kim's first UK Number 1.
Ultimately staying at the top of the chart for a full month, Unholy also ranks as one of the biggest songs of 2022 on the Official Singles Chart, Official Charts Company data shows it has currently shifted over 658,000 chart units to date.
You can discover more about Unholy's thrilling journey to Number 1 - and how Sam and Kim got it there - here.
With little over two weeks to go until Gloria arrives, the next question will be if Sam can secure their third Number 1 album, having previously hit the top spot with debut record In The Lonely Hour (2013) and The Thrill Of It All (2017). 2020's Love Goes entered the Official Albums Chart at Number 2.
As for the rest of the album, Sam has collaborated with a raft of hitmakers for the rest of the tracks. Reyez is due to lend her vocals to another song, Perfect, and tapped Ed Sheeran to duet with on the albums closer, Who We Love. Writing and production credits are also found for hitmakers like Max Martin, ILYA, Steve Mac and Fred again...
