Sam Smith, John Legend's Lay Me Down claims second week atop Official Singles Chart
The pair's Comic Relief collaboration notches up a second week at Number 1.
Sam Smith and John Legend have notched up a second week at Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart.
Lay Me Down, which serves as the official 2015 Comic Relief single, extends its reign at the top with a lead of 9,000 combined chart sales over its closest competitor, Years & Years’ King, which remains at Number 2.
Meanwhile, Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s FourFiveSeconds climbs two places to Number 3 and claims the title of this week’s most-streamed track with 1.98 million streams.
James Bay’s Hold Back The River reaches a new peak on the tally after jumping six places to Number 4, and Ellie Goulding completes the Top 5 with Love Me Like You Do.
New entries and high climbers
This week’s highest new entry goes to Tough Love’s So Freakin’ Tight. The duo, comprising of producers Alex and Stef, land at Number 11.
Further down the chart, Ed Sheeran’s Bloodstream climbs 11 places to reach a new peak at Number 26. A new version of the song featuring Rudimental will be released on March 29.
Pitbull earns his 24th UK Top 40 hit this week with the Ne-Yo-assisted Time Of Our Lives (28), and Norwegian producer Kygo leaps 16 places to makes his Top 40 debut with Firestone.
Finally, singer and producer MNEK lands at Number 38 with The Rhythm. Last year the rising star scored a Top 5 hit as a guest feature on Gorgon City’s Ready For Your Love.
